Although I do have an uncle on one of the most modern ships in the world and it would have just been a tour of sailing the world on that, which could have been kind of cool, the prospect of a year of my life gone does not appeal to me one bit.
Initially i went into Russia to straighten out issues with paperwork with the government. There was a very good chance that it would all go sour so I tried to minimize the exposure of the rest of the world to it as much as I could.
When I got there, my last grandmother was in very bad shape and ended up dying (this is actually a very long story...

). There were things i had to do with respect to that as well when I received my Russian passport.
