Add DM & TDM to the server?

Leave as it is.......spoilt for choice with maps anyway

I like the game just the way it is. I have had a very hard learning experience trying to be competetive. I do not know how to bind keys or use the "beam me up" types of transit around the maps. I sure would like to learn how to do some of these speed tricks so as not to be a bother when i am playing way above my talents. Where does one go to find out how to do this stuff?

You don't really need to bind keys for anything. I'm one of the best players if not the best player on the server, and the only things I have bound (aside from the forward/back/side movements) are translocator to q (my UT came with this already in place, so no effort on my part), "Moo!" to e and suicide to v.

I switch weapons with the mousewheel (lol Moxley was surprised when I told him about this...), and I don't have any of the "cool" binds that are out there because it's all just cheesy and it's all trying too hard.

Also, I play on the cheapest available DSL service from verizon in my area ($20 a month! woo!), and use one of two really old microsoft optical mice (depending mainly on which one I can find). The first one my dad got when I was a senior in high school, the second i got for my new computer just before I entered college over 5 years ago. I usually use a table top for a surface. Right now i'm forced to using a book b/c this temporary table (i just moved out onto manhattan 2 weeks ago... haven't had time to buy a real table or a couch...) has a plush thing on it and it makes it very odd to move a mouse around on it (but every time i move the book with my hand my aim shoots straight up or straight down lol...).

My point being, UT is just a game. You really don't need anything cheesy like special mice, special keyboards, tricked out computers, special mousepads, keybinds or any of that stuff to be good. Just stick to the basics and get better with time and don't overdo it, UT is just a game after all...

hey Dogass!

Now that you know Alexei is the best player on the server, what his binds are, what his internet service is, and that he's too f'n broke to have a desk unless his dad buys it, what would you actually like to know about the kickass game of UT? Feel free to chat with me while we're playing too. I might be able to help...who knows.

I also use the mousewheel to switch weapons most of the time, although I did finally bind the translocator. I think the key there is only pickup weapons you'll use. Picking up too many requires you to scroll through too many and while ur trying to find a weapon, ur dead. I can help you in game too if you want. And for the record, on 24hr Lego Playground the other day, I beat Alexei like a red-headed step child!

(No offense to any red-headed step children, just a figure of speech) He is very good just a little oversized in the cranium area. Spectating players like Alexei and Moxley will go a long way in helping turn you from dogass into |>oG4ss. :lol:

Now, now Mox, don't be mean. I can afford a desk. It's affording an apartment on manhattan that will have enough space for one that's the issue!

and I don't remember being beaten "like a red-headed stepchild" on legorockets, although entirely possible since I don't like that map and usually wander around for 15 minutes... but more likely you confused someone as me. Or maybe that was before I found my mouse and was messing around using a touchpad lol.

Anyway, yeah, throwing out all the "junk" weapons that I never use just after I pick them up has always been a strategy of mine, along with having superior movement skills from BT, not relying on a translocator, etc. I'm surprised at how many people I see pick everything up

I hate Lego rockets1 & 2 and I wouldn't miss them if you accidentally deleted them from the server. :lol:

Those maps truly bring out the worst in people.

Yeah I only pick up a couple of weapons, depending on the map of course.
And I'm with xero regarding lego rockets 1 & 2. I used to enjoy those, but its a snipers paradise.....

I do believe there are sniper servers for those who want to sit in one spot.
